Wolffhound & PAW
What is Wolffhound?
Wolffhound is a cross-platform application (Windows, Mac, Linux) that discovers and connects to Wolff Audio devices. It runs quietly in the system tray (Windows/Linux) or menu bar (Mac).
What it does:
Automatically finds Wolff Audio devices on the network or directly connected to the computer
Provides a Device Browser window showing all discovered devices
Launches the appropriate management app when a device is clicked (clicking on a ProPatch will launch PAW)
Technical note: Wolffhound is an Electron app that launches management apps in a browser shell.
What is PAW?
PAW (ProPatch Application for the Web) is the management interface for ProPatch devices.
What it does:
Provides the full ProPatch control interface
Sends API calls to your ProPatch with routing configurations
Technical note: PAW is a web app. It can run inside Wolffhound or directly in a browser with the right launch parameters (documentation forthcoming). The underlying API for setting routes will also be published for third-party integrations.
Long-term support: Because PAW is a web app, it is not tied to operating system changes. New OS releases do not require new versions of PAW. It will run in any modern browser (Chrome preferred) as well as inside Electron, avoiding the complexity of maintaining native applications across operating system updates.
How Updates Work
Wolffhound and PAW are different applications and have separate update channels. Updates will appear automatically in the respective application (note: computer must be connected to the Internet).
